CLOU envisions the Chilean Pavilion for Expo Dubai 2020, exploring the topography of Chile, its

mountains, peaks, and volcanoes, as a transversal element to all places in Chile.

Because of the unique weather conditions in Dubai, CLOU envisions a tour inside a volcano that acts as a wind tower, guiding circulation while also cooling the space throughout the building.

The building perches slightly on the site creating an elevated plaza, making the fist level of the pavilion public in a dry garden of Chilean stones.

The circulation is designed to take visitors on a journey to the volcano’s interior, beginning with a tour on the ramp and ending with a spacious multipurpose gallery on the inside, which features an exhibition of a Chilean mine. The spiraling circulation concludes on the rooftop, where there is an exhibition space and a shaded sky plaza.
